Sash Windows: Retrofit Double-Glazing

IGU’s (Insulated glass units) are manufactured by accredited manufacturers who comply with the AS/NZ Standard. IGU’s are guaranteed for 10 years under the NZ Building Code.

The process:

The existing sashes are removed, the old glass is cut out and the rebate enlarged to accommodate the new IGU (insulated glass unit). The IGU is installed using a timber glazing bead and the sash re-hung. Additional weight is added to counterbalance the substantially heavier glass. Staff beads are fitted with German-made weather seals and the work area is made good.

Glass options:

Standard double-glazing for timber windows is 4mm clear glass/8mm spacer/4mm clear glass.
